GSA/GSCS field Trial 24 & 25.03.23

The GSA / GSCS Open Stake was held at Kyllachy Tomatin by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Fleming and the keeper Duncan Kerr. Pete Sutherland was the gun

39 dogs ran 

The conditions were difficult , we started with a cold wind and rain. The day brightened to show blue sky. The dog running was shown on this lovely moor, with plenty of birds , the sky’s cleared the sportsmanship was evident . There were 9.5 brace in the second round

Shanrycon Dextor owned by Kim Brown won the new LIRIC trophy in memory of Maureen Justice for best Quatering

Falconstoop Bertie won the Roseisle trophy for Guns choice

We were joined by local enthusiasts Jane and Libby 

Steve and Caroline Bennett Gordon Setter enthusiasts from Adelaide and Phil Halse from Perth Australia

Day 2 Novice Stake 

The GSA / GSCS held the Novice stake today. The weather despite a cold North wind was kind, but conditions were difficult.  After some excellent running and a number of dogs shot over,  there were 3.5 brace back. Alas there were no awards 

However the judges awarded the specials as follows: 

The prizes were presented by Fiona Thomson 

Eskdale Trophy for the dog with a championship award who most pleased the judges

Yennadon Trophy in memory of Sylvia Ackerley for best Novice handler

GSCS Stanley Quaich for best quatering in the stake awarded to Kim Browns ISD Colcoats Rum

Andrews Sugarbrook Trophy for Guns choice awarded by the Gun Peter Sutherland to Philippe Mimoumi pointer dog On the road again de Fondjuan 

Judges Mr Wilson Young and Mrs Barbara Smith .
